Privacy Policy

Overview

Challenge Buddy ("the app", "we", "us") is a challenge-tracking app. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can control it. We've deliberately kept the amount of personal information the app asks for to a minimum: your account is identified only by your email address, we don't collect your name.

Information we collect

• Email address — used to create and sign in to your account.
• Password — stored as a salted hash, never in plain text; we cannot see your actual password.
• Challenge activity — challenges you create or join, your check-ins/progress logs, and related timestamps.
• Bug reports — only if you choose to submit one, we store the description you write.

We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any device identifiers for advertising purposes. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

How we use this information

• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To operate core features: showing your joined challenges, recording check-ins, and displaying the public challenge timeline.
• To investigate bugs you report.

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising or marketing.

Where data is stored

Data is stored on servers we operate and is transmitted between the app and our servers over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

Your choices

• You can delete challenges and check-ins you've created from within the app.
• You can delete your account directly from the app: open Profile and tap Delete account. This takes effect immediately — your email, name, password, and profile picture are erased, and any linked sign-in provider is disconnected. Any check-in notes and photos you posted are deleted outright. Messages and kudos you left in shared challenges may remain visible to other participants so their challenge history isn't disrupted, but they'll no longer be linked to your identity and will show as posted by "Deleted".

Children's privacy

Challenge Buddy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the revised version at this same address.
